Chez Louka

THE best pizza ever! They also sometimes do burgers and salads…. But sometimes not. They do a pizza with a whole Burrata in the middle – it is stunning! This place is worth a try, always book – they also do takeaway which you can text in or just walk up the street and order for later or have a beer while you wait. Lovely people, if you try to speak French they will help you! They have a little moped in the restaurant which is cute.

La Maison

A luxury haute cuisine restaurant, which has been voted number 1 on Trip Advisor. It is a more expensive option and can be tough to get a weekend reservation, so book a table in advance! There are plenty of local bars for a pre dinner drink too.

A rather stylish affair (English spoken), small menu (9EU starter 18EU main) the food isn’t heavy, its very well cooked. Very good reviews. It’s on the promenade where pentanque is played – very picturesque.

Tapas with a little Moroccan influence with views or the village church and a beautiful fairy lit garden. They have a wine shop in the cellar, and extensive wine list and the tapas changes daily and is on a black board. We take a photo and then sit translating the bits we don’t understand.

In Magalas Village, we go here for the bar. It’s ok food, lots of pizza, cheap and cheerful and staff are nice. The best night to go is Tuesday because they have live music outside and close the street – great atmosphere! On a Friday in peak summer, close they close the roads, have live music and the locals eat outdoors on tables in the streets.

Chateau du Port

This restaurant is stunning and one of our favourites. The set menu is a luxurious seafood menu and great value – although the a la carte menu is so damned divine it’s hard not to stray! It’s a white table-cloth affair, overlooking the port and right next to the oyster beds.

Also we love and strongly recommend Ô Petits Bontemps next to the library in Beziers, its exciting, delicious, Instagram worthy food. The husband and wife both work here, both are lovely and speak English. It’s mainly daytime but they do open some weekend evenings in Summer. Must book!

We always visit the oyster beds and we prefer Marseillan and we have a favourite restaurant by the oyster beds and it’s just outside the village of Pinet ( Picpoul de pinet white wine is perfectly paired with seafood) so your oysters and wine are made right where you are sat! Its 30km away but its stunning worth the trip! https://www.lestbarth.com/ (ignore their google map, i;ts wrong)

Auberge de la Croisade

This restaurant is worth the 40 min drive. It’s old school classic, elegant French, and is some of the best food I’ve eaten in France. It’s a long affair, so save at least 2 hours for a meal. It’s on the Canal Du Midi so you can have a lovely walk before or after lunch. In summer you can sit outside – it really is stunning and a must see in my opinion! Make sure you reserve a table.
