The House

In the heart of a Languedoc wine-village close to Beziers and Pézenas, this 1869 grand Maison De Vignerons was renovated to the highest standard over the last 5 years, many aspects have been saved and restored and the rest is new and in keeping with this house filled with character. 2023 is the first year it has been available. This stunning House with private pool and garden in the village centre is a rarity in medieval circulade villages This house offers charm, character, elegance and privacy all set behind beautiful grand electric iron gates.

It's almost a privilege to stay in such a historic home dating back to the 19th century, where the owner of many of the local vineyards lived, the great granddaughter remembers the ancient wisteria from when she was a child!

Bedrooms

The 5 bedrooms, with high ceilings and stunning new windows set in the original stone openings designed to let in the stunning southern sunlight, and new shutters to keep it out when necessary.

 

Kitchen

The kitchen is nothing short of spectacular, it’s is solid wood, handmade, hand painted with solid brass handles and granite worktops, its a large kitchen and the heart of the house with an island to stand around and a handmade dining table.

 

Bathrooms

The bathrooms have luxury fixtures from Burlington and heritage and one bathroom has an original fire surround, one has a stone archway. This house is filled with so much light and so many original features such as elegant high ceilings, original tiled flooring, stone archways and intricate design. Traditionally furnished with comfort in mind, there’s an air of old-fashioned romance whether it’s the fireplaces, the sweeping staircase, beautiful French windows or original stone windows.

 

Pool Area

The outdoor area is outstanding and designed with an outdoor lifestyle in mind, all looking over the glistening swimming pool surrounded by a picturesque private natural stone terrace and summer kitchen with barbecue. There is even a full bathroom and shower in the pool/bar area, tiles with bespoke hand printed cement tiles made just for this property. Of course there has to be an outdoor shower in addition – who doesn’t love showering outside on a warm summer evening…?

 

The Gardens

The gardens has a boundary of Oleander roses which are beautiful when in flower in the summer, as is the vast and ancient wisteria which we think might be 100 years old or more! So surprising for a village home there are multiple locations, terraces, lounge areas, bar seating, dining tables towering trees, a pretty pagoda, lovely terraces for morning coffee or al-fresco meals. It is a Languedoc paradise yet so close to everything this glorious region has to offer.
