Carcassonne is simply stunning, it’s hard summarise and still explain how gorgeous Carcassonne is. Just Google, see why and visit it. Its citadel, known as the Cité de Carcassonne, is a medieval fortress dating back to the Gallo-Roman period and it’s a UNESCO heritage site. The fireworks on bastille day are world renowned.

We have eaten at the hotel Cite de Carcassonne to avoid the crowds and it was impeccable!
